Sparkey is the kind of dog who makes you earn his trust — and once you do, he gives you his whole heart.

He’s a sensitive, soulful boy who gets very nervous meeting men. We believe his past may not have been kind, and because of that, new situations and unfamiliar people can feel overwhelming to him. 

Sparkey isn’t a “love at first sight” dog… he’s a love after patience dog.

But here’s the part that matters most: he does get there.

With time, consistency, and gentleness, Sparkey learns that he is safe. In his foster home, he adores his foster dad — cuddling on the couch, watching TV, and soaking up quiet moments together. 

Once Sparkey trusts you, he becomes incredibly affectionate, happily crawling into your lap and snuggling close like he’s been waiting his whole life for that safety.

Sparkey is about 30 pounds — the perfect medium size — with the most expressive, adorable face and a playful side that loves a good game of fetch. Beneath his nerves is a truly sweet, loving dog who just wants to feel secure and chosen.

We know Sparkey’s person is out there. He needs someone patient, understanding, and willing to let him set the pace — someone who believes that dogs like Sparkey aren’t “too much,” they’re worth more.
